I’m Virginia, and I’m a Canadian! I’m what they call a CBC (Canadian born Chinese) and moved to HK in 2012. I am the creator of Humid with a Chance of Fishballs Tours & of this site. I can’t code to save my life so bear with me if there are wonky pages or links that don’t work – it’s a work in progress…
Becoming increasingly enamoured with Hong Kong – its culture, history, people – I started a blog about it, TheSmooDiaries.com. It’s a blog around the must sees & dos when travelling in Asia, a lot Asian food, mixed in with Cantonese Slang lessons, & basically just a lil’ slice of Asia.
After spending a lot of years working in American banks (Wells Fargo and JP Morgan), I realized I wanted a career that made me tick, something that would rock my socks, ya know? I wanted to meet new people and to try a lot of good food, so here I am, creating something I can call my own.
This isn’t a big box, cookie cutter company – every tour is made with a Hong Kong story behind it. All tours are designed by myself through meticulous planning and research. I’ll have you know that curating food stops involves trying dozen of items before only the top few are selected. So, come eat with us =)
